Flavour Profile
Delicate osmanthus and orchid fragrances mingle with hints of fresh fruit and a gentle vegetal sweetness. The bright honey-green liquor has golden hues and a full, silky texture, offering a smooth, refreshing taste.

A rounded sweetness develops across the palate and lingers after each sip. The thick leaves release their fragrance and flavour gradually, retaining their character through multiple infusions.

Terroir
Our LiShan Oolong comes from Xin Jiayang in Taiwan’s greater LiShan tea-growing region, at approximately 2,000 metres above sea level. The tea garden sits on a sun-facing slope near a mountain valley, where cool temperatures, frequent mists and marked differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures create favourable conditions for growing tea.

At this elevation, the cool climate and limited sunshine encourage slow leaf growth, producing thick, tender leaves. These growing conditions help develop the delicate floral and fruity aromas, full, silky texture and lingering sweetness that distinguish our LiShan Oolong.

Our Selection
We offer our LiShan Oolong in a single grade: Competition Grade. Made from hand-picked Chin Shin Oolong leaves, this tea is left unroasted to preserve its fresh floral fragrance and distinctive high mountain character.

Unlike some of our other Competition Grade teas, our LiShan Oolong does not undergo an additional stage of hand-removing stems. We retain the finished tea in this form to preserve the character we value in this particular selection.
