A rich honeyed fragrance mingles with ripe-fruit aromas and delicate floral notes. The clear amber liquor is smooth and mellow, combining a light, refined texture with a rounded, satisfying flavour.
Natural sweetness unfolds across the palate, followed by a lingering honeyed and fruity finish. Left unroasted, the tea expresses its distinctive fragrance without an added roasted character.
Terroir
Our Oriental Beauty comes from MiaoLi, one of Taiwan’s best-known regions for this distinctive oolong. The tea garden lies at approximately 400 metres above sea level, on sheltered hillsides where warm, humid conditions and plentiful sunshine support tea growth.
Oriental Beauty is made from tender leaves and buds that have been fed on by small green leafhoppers (Jacobiasca formosana). This interaction, together with careful processing, helps develop the tea’s characteristic honeyed and ripe-fruit aromas.
Our Selection
We offer our Oriental Beauty Oolong in a single grade: Competition Grade. The tea is made from hand-picked tender shoots, traditionally consisting of one bud and two leaves, and carefully processed to develop its distinctive aroma and flavour.
Our selection focuses on the quality of the finished tea, including its honeyed fragrance, ripe-fruit character, smooth texture and lingering sweetness. The naturally twisted leaves display a mixture of colours, accented by pale, downy buds. These pale tips give the tea its alternative name, White Tip Oolong.
